The Lubbock Reese Development Committee (LRRC) was formed in 1995, two weeks after the proposed closure of the base.

The Lubbock Reese's Redevelopment Committee has been contacted by the Redevelopment Authority (LRRA) and can now execute contracts on the underlying property. "The economic development grant and provisions will come from the new sales tax revenue generated by Sutherlands HomeBase," he said. "A percentage of that money will be returned over seven years."

The Good Life

For the average commercial business, lighting accounts for more than 25% of a building's energy use. According to the US Department of Energy, replacing your lighting with ENERGY STAR certified LED lighting can help businesses reduce these costs.

In addition to saving money, there are many reasons to switch to fluorescent lights. Accredited sources such as ENERGY STAR and the US Department of Energy recommend the lights because they:

"Few people have noticed the change with LED lights, especially with the good looks of our displays," Berry said. "Also, we like the lights better because they are yellow and brighter than our previous lights."
